The department boasts of outstanding infrastructural facilities, along with study centers and computer training centers for the facility of the students who have enrolled themselves for distance learning courses. Additionally, the university pioneers in offering post graduate level degree courses in Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Applied Psychology, Law and Bioinformatics, making it the first in the country to do so. Other programs offered by DDE include the ones in Textile Design, Fashion Design, Interior Design, Retail Management, Hotel Management and Catering Technology, Pharmaceutical, Taxation, Yoga, Music, Health Science and Fire and Safety. Also, a B Ed program has been introduced by the department in 2008-09, which has been approved by National Council for Teacher Education, New Delhi.
