All Work, No Play – Needs to Change

Byjus
The idea of a good and perfect life is to have a sound mind in a sound body. This can be achieved when the Body and mind work at their best. Sports play a vital Role in the development of Mental Strength and Physical Fitness of a Body. For a healthy life, one should have a balanced life, giving equal importance to Studies and Sports. Education alone cannot fulfil the Criteria of being a well Organised Social Member of the Society.

If we look back in the history of any successful person, we see the important parameters for success are continuity, dedication, patience and overall development which involves physical activities too.

CBSE has made it mandatory to give equal importance to sports by organizing Inter School Sports and Games Competitions every year at approximately 160 venues for nearly 9000 independent categories of affiliated schools in as many as 17 disciplines at a cluster, zonal and National level.

Here are some of the following key-points that books cannot teach us but sports can:

1. Leadership

Leaders influence people toward certain goals and visions for the future. Some leaders are more task-oriented, and other leaders are more person-oriented, but effective leaders tend to be a combination of both.

If given these opportunities to lead, players will become much more confident leading others and develop leadership skills that most kids rarely have the opportunity to learn.

2. Body language Speaks

Sports is all about body movements and non-verbal communication. We are well aware of the fact that in a conversation, our body expresses about 55% of our thought. Body language says a lot about how a person is feeling and what they’re thinking. Thus, this improves the verbal and nonverbal skills in a conversation.

3. Handle Emotions

Developing the ability to control emotions and mood is beneficial for any sports person. In particular, improving self-awareness and motivation, and decreasing reactions to stress are essential life skills. Life is simple but we generally miss out the opportunity to get to our comfort zone. Sports can teach us how to overcome our fears in life and build up confidence.

4. Team Spirit

‘United we stand, Divided we fall’ is a phrase which tells us that things can easily be achieved if we stand together. This thing develops a sense of team Spirit and building Strong Relations with others as well.

5. Source of happiness

When children are asked about the activity that brings happiness to them, they reply that they are happier when playing games. To protect the child from danger and to educate them, sports should be mandatory in everyday life. Continually they are guided by adults, helping them settle their anxieties and depression.

6. Health-

A person regularly involved in Sports has a good Health. Playing Sports regularly helps in smooth circulation of blood in all parts of Body. Thus making any person fit and healthy. This also improves the concentration power and better understanding of the person, which can help in studies.

It is not the sound and the fury that counts but effort in the right direction to make a mark. Many students do not find time to play in this competitive world. Institutes like Byju’s provide the students with interactive videos and in-air projection technique that allow the students to have a better understanding of concepts within a short period of time, providing the students to score well and also allowing them to get involved in other activities of their age. For a clear idea, and a better understanding of concepts like  Pythagoras Theorem, Ohms Law, Acid Rain, etc,
